The Story

A premium, extra virgin sesame oil crafted from carefully selected white sesame seeds by Yamada Seiyu.

Unlike traditional toasted sesame oils, this first cold-pressed oil is unroasted, allowing the fresh, delicate flavours of the sesame to shine through. Its light, aromatic taste makes it perfect for enhancing both classic and contemporary dishes.

The oil is crafted through a precise, time-honoured process of seed selection, pressing, purifying and filtering. Production is entrusted to just 11 skilled artisans, trained by the third generation of the Yamada Seiyu family, who have been producing exceptional sesame oil in Japan for over 100 years.

Produced entirely naturally, with no artificial processes or chemicals, even the leftover seeds are reused to create other sesame products.

How to Use

Perfect in delicate dishes where roasted sesame oil would overpower:

  • Clear soups (osuimono)
  • Chawanmushi
  • Light broths
  • Poached seafood

For refined Japanese cooking:

  • In traditional cuisine, balance is everything. This oil enhances without dominating.
