Inspired by Bizen ware, one of Japan’s six ancient kilns, this carafe reflects the heritage of pottery from Okayama Prefecture, formerly known as Bizen province.
Bizen ware is renowned for its rustic appearance, durability, and lack of glaze, resulting in a distinctive matt finish. Classic Bizen pottery features earthy brown and reddish tones, achieved through special firing techniques that create the strikingly coloured dark surface. This gives the carafe a unique, tactile quality that enhances the sake-drinking experience.
