Bring a touch of coastal beauty to your table with the “Umi” plate, handcrafted in Japan’s renowned ceramic region of Gifu Prefecture. “Umi” means ocean in Japanese and the design of the plate is inspired by the meeting point of the sea, with the cyan-glazed base reminiscent of coastal waters and the earth with the natural tones of the unglazed rim.
Made from fine Minoyaki earthenware, this small deep plate is practical and elegant. Its softly curved profile and gently sloping sides make it ideal for serving small dishes - whether it’s a side of pickles, dipping sauces, shared starters, or delicate desserts.
